G'day and welcome to the offical home of Laura Rose Middleton. I'm excited about this new phase of my online presence. Until now, it's been primarily through my Blog, and I will keep updating that as time goes by.  

...Passion...Down...Under...

Blame it on David, the boy who challenged me to a writing contest when we were nine years old. The guidelines were sketchy, and only one rule applied: write as many pages as we could. Silly boy. He obviously didn't realise how much I loved spinning stories, which up to that point had been down by the spoken word in the playground. Until then, I hadn't actually written anything down. WHen I hit twenty five pages, my competitor threw his hands in the air and declared I'd won. I can't remember the title of that story, nor any of the characters, but that's where it all began.

I'm an ordinary Australian girl who puts family first and, fortunately or unfortunately, sometimes lets my career get out of control. A teacher by day, romance writer by night, my life is full of the good things. I write because I'm passionate about it, because it's in my heart. I love the escapism, the adventure and the life I live vicariously through my characters. Most of all, I relish the challenge of bringing sensual, delightful and fulfilling stories of romance to life,

I have a number of manuscripts completed and in various stages of the submission process. You can track these in the sidebar as I will update them the instant I have news to share.  

What do I write? I love contemporary romance, but have also tried my hand at romantic suspense and adventure/action. I'm greatly looking forward to my new project: a romantic suspense with a paranormal twist!

I am about to be published. 2005 has been an exciting year and I feel there's good things to comer. I hope to publish both in print and electronically, and as such, will have a name for each. I hope that sooner or later, a book by Laura Middleton or Rose Middleton will be in your to-be-read pile.

This last week has proven to be full of joyous news for me on the writing front. First, Liquid Silver Books has requested the full manuscript of His Secret Santa. So perhaps, come Christmas 2006, you might be able to get your hands on a copy. Wish me luck.
